Norge Dental Center

This commercial space was designed with its patients in mind. We prioritized keeping the hallways clear of furniture for more walking space. The water feature acts as a talking point and also as calming background noise as patients get their teeth cleaned.

This project was one of my first experiences in interior design (almost 20 years ago!). Since I was new to the space and had a lot of learning to do, my husband, who is the owner of the Norge Dental Center practice, suggested that we work with a dental design group. We worked with Michael Unthank Design group. They helped organize our architect, cabinet maker, and dental equipment representative to the 10,000 square foot space ready for customers. They helped us with paint colors, countertops, carpet, and flooring. There were a lot of decisions to be made and they made it an incredibly easy experience for us. I learned a lot in the process and came away with a lot of advice for future office remodel clients.

Since working with the design group, my husband, his staff, and I have made some adjustments. We have updated the paint color, artwork and furniture. The pictures below showcase the original cabinetry and furniture that the Unthank group helped us pick out, but do not showcase the updated artwork. We have updated the artwork to include some travel pictures taken by my husband—these make for great conversations with his patients!

Since being introduced to the commercial design space through the Norge Dental Center project, my husband and I have redecorated five other dental offices on the peninsula which have changed ownership over the past few years. He has loads of experience using practices and understands the flow of how doctors, receptionists, and patients use the space. He offered a lot of great advice when we designed these 5 commercial spaces. Each one of these offices required working within a tight budget that allowed for new paint colors, removal of dated sliding windows, new and more comfortable reception furniture, and artwork.

If you have a commercial space that needs a face lift, or if you’d like some advice on how to design a space that is practical, functional, and beautiful, reach out! I can help you choose paint colors, fabrics, furniture, and artwork to make a space not only appealing to the staff who see it every day but also to the customer.
