Craft Room Renovation
This space was originally a catch all for kid’s crafts and early 2000s scrapbooking. We prioritized storage for old scrapbooks and crafts and a clean work space to continue creating.

This space was originally a catch all for kid’s crafts and many crafting interests.

We wanted to make this space feel open, organized, and whimsical without feeling cluttered. The interesting architecture of the walls, windows, and amount of craft items to still be included in the room made this project a little tricky!

First, we decided what to keep and what to toss. We emptied the entire room to start from scratch. We decided to keep the shelving units to house past crafts and scrapbooks and purchase a new desk and project table that match. From there, we decided on a paint color and wallpaper that added some fun to the room. The wallpaper was sourced from Anthropologie by Borastapeter in Bloom Foxglove and invites a naturally whimsical feel. The paint color was formulated by Sherwin Williams to match the background color of the wallpaper. New flooring really pulled this new room together. The old flooring was vinyl and was starting to show its wear, so we opted for faux wood vinyl plank flooring that would be better for everyday wear-and-tear. To replace the old furniture, we chose a matching desk and project table from Pottery Barn, and a smaller desk from Wayfair. The project table included 9 shelves on each side to create cubbies for crafting supplies, giving us even extra storage! To maximize the budget, we ordered ivory cubby boxes from Amazon. The children’s table and chairs were  original to the room but were cleaned and tucked away to the side. This room’s whimsical feel helps to create endless possibilities in creativity for all age groups.
